Oh, hello! I'm Cole, and welcome to the website of Stramedia: my_MISADVENTURE!
A trage-comedic horror themed adventure game I am developing for Windows, Linux (desktop and Steam Deck) and Android devices!
Yes, folks, even to this very day - this project is still in development!
This means that several features, everything you're seeing and anything else that is mentioned here is subject to inevitable change. Otherwise, things will stack up over time.
Normally, games like this are usually being developed in teams that work on such stuff full-time, already have a source of active development funding and are significantly bigger than a "passioned one-man; self-funded; part-time/hobby" kind of team, so it's natural for games like this one to be in development for a very long time.
Especially because the ambitions are high and I want to make Stramedia the best accessible comedic+horror game it can possibly be.
If you wish to check on how are things holding up, you can always take a peek through the short, profane development status notes that get updated on certain occasions.
In Brief Summary,
in this game, you partake a role of Nathan Philips, a class president who winds up signing an agreement for a school trip far from home to the titular safehouse facility, Stramedia, that ends up being a certain death trap for him, his friends, enemies, frienemies...literally everyone else unfortunate enough to be there.
So, what does Nate, his friends and other potential survivors gotta do now?
Surprise-surprise, they have to get the ■■■■ outta there as soon as humanly possible before the situation gets any worse.
...or get to the thick of it. They really don't get to decide, because YOU are the one who gets to decide how the game ends!
It's one weird comedic horror themed adventure, and it's a school trip of a lifetime.
Make your hard calls if needed, as long as you get out of the ongoing crime scene safe and sound in Stramedia: my_MISADVENTURE!
Game Features!
(AKA: the stuff worth checking this game out!)
- The main protagonist is wearing a fedora hat! This is probably the best selling point to this game... I think! I mean...this is one of the main factors you got attracted to that other game with a kid, the kid's hat, the stuff...uh, no? Okay, but if you know what you're doing, you can find and recruit three other friends (and probably some other faces?) you'll get (or have) to play as!
- Essentially, this is another "average mediocre indie" horror game, except the mediocrity here is 99% intentional! And not to mention that it's got everything you love and hate to see and experience in a horror themed videogame! Stupid simple and ridiculous (and somehow twisted) puzzles (with a lot of "ands"), occasional cheap-ass jumpscares - you name it! - cliché monsters, and even thirsty spooky mannequins...except they actually want to drink tea, you pervert. Get out of here!
- (change in progress; preview) Simplistic Visual Pixel Art Style - for those who love looking at pixels with different contrasts - that is surgically fused together with modern 3D technology, and fortunately enough for you - this game isn't built using Unreal Technology which would have made your PC scream in absolute anguish - meaning that you can always tone down the graphics, nice and simple.
But if any 3D garbage doesn't tickle your fancy, you are lucky to be not stuck with it, because you can always enable 2D camera perspective mode.
- Soundtrack and Audio Design that is both simplistic and neat!
- No, really. That kid has a hat.
- Despite it's horror nature, it's also a comedy game! What kind of comedy? This game has got most of it! Whenever it's all bad puns, visual humor, random, dark, dry or somehow outright gross and ("mildly") offensive humor, Stramedia has it in the stock and shelves!
- Prepare for some surrealism, because no matter if it's an optical thing or not, things are...weird, yet somewhat disturbing, but not personal space like disturbing, because this is where it draws the line even for us.
- A nice variety of accessibility options that put "accessible" in "accessible horror"!...without resorting to lazy merch spawners and other malicious corporate practices! Whenever you have a problem with something, this game's accessibility (and other) settings options may enhance the experience more nicely - nice enough to fit your personal preferences!
- Seriously, that kid is wearing my hat! SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING! DON'T LET HIM GET AWAY WITH MY HAT!! >:U
